Brazilian Business Travel Association (ABGEV)

ABGEV is the business travel association representing buyers and suppliers from the business travel community in South America. Before its official launch in 2003, it existed for more than 10 years as an informal group of travel managers providing business travel benchmarking. ABGEV’s goals include growth and improvement of the business travel industry in Brazil and development of strong relationships between all players in the corporate travel market. ABGEV has about 160 buyer and supplier members managing more than $4 billion USD in annual travel expenditures, and representing about 20% of the Brazilian business travel market. Austrian Business Travel Association (ABTA-Austria)

Founded in 1989, the Austrian Business Travel Association (ABTA-Austria) is the Austrian national forum for corporate travel management. The aim of the organization is to enhance the professional development of travel managers through know-how transfer by stimulating dialogue with travel experts, cooperation between buyers and suppliers of travel services, and local and international networking. Throughout the year, ABTA-Austria holds an annual meeting, a two-day summer meeting, and up to 10 education sessions. As of 2004, the association has 95 travel supplier members and 120 corporate travel buyer members from Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. The buyer members of ABTA cover more than 60% of the business travel costs of all Austrian companies and their combined purchasing power in 2001 was up to € 430 million. Danish Business Travel Association (DBTA)

The Danish Business Travel Association (DBTA),

is the single association for travel buyers and industry suppliers in Denmark. DBTA’s mission is to be the industry forum for exchange of knowledge and experience between corporate travel buyers and industry suppliers. Finnish Business Travel Association (FBTA)

Founded in 1984, FBTA is an organization for business travel professionals with the mission to enhance the understanding, knowledge and skills required in corporate travel management and procurement. FBTA´s aim also is to enhance the status and visibility of Travel Management through stimulating public discussion on topical Travel Management issues. The ultimate goal of FBTA is to provide added value to its members through cost effective and high-quality travel management .The association also works with industry and government officials to improve the general conditions for business travel and travel management. Iberian Business Travel Association (IBTA)

Established in 1988, the association initially represented the business travel management professionals in Catalonia , Spain. In July 2004, it grew to become the Iberian Business Travel Association (IBTA) and represent the business travel industry in the Iberian Peninsula . The goal of the association is to be the focal point of relationship building between all players in the Iberian business travel industry. IBTA facilitates networking and exchange of information through seminars, educational and professional meetings. The Institute of Travel Management UK & Ireland (ITM)

The Institute of Travel Management (ITM) was established in 1956 to represent the interests of travel managers in the UK & Ireland.  In 2007 ITM has almost 1,000 individual members who join to take advantage of education programmes, networking, research and other member benefits to enhance their roles in the business travel market.  ITM is a buyer-led organization with over 55% of members representing their companies as travel managers/buyers and the remaining 45% being suppliers – from TMCs to airlines, hoteliers and even Video Conference companies.  The buyer membership represents over 25% of the UK market with an estimated travel spend in excess of £6 billion per annum.

Each year ITM undertakes over 6 full day forums, one annual 3 day conference and numerous smaller events and webcasts.  The association produces regular research to allow buyers and suppliers to benchmark their activity and an annual report on the UK market.  In 2007 it is launching Project ICARUS, an ambitious project to assist buyers in actually reducing carbon emissions from travel programmes in line with targets set through the Kyoto Agreement.

Netherlands Association of Travel Management (NATM)

Founded in 1972, the Netherlands Association for Travel Management (NATM) has a long established presence in the European business travel market representing about 125 members within the business travel industry in the Netherlands. Among their members are about 80 corporate travel buyers and 45 travel service providers, collectively managing $2 billion USD travel expenditures per year. As one of the leading travel associations for Western Europe, NATM strives to maintain long standing relationships with such organizations as the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Geneva and the European Commission in Brussels. NATM offers programs that facilitate the exchange of ideas, discuss developments within the travel trade, and influence legislation to benefit corporate travel managers of their region. Norwegian Business Travel Association

Swedish Business Travel Association (SBTA)

The Swedish Business Travel Association (SBTA) is the leading network of travel and meeting Management in Sweden. SBTA represents the neutral voice of the majority of Swedish corporate business buyers in matters of travel and meeting management.
